Toronto, November 2, 2012 — Today, Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney announced that by the end of 2013, Canada’s immigration system will be transformed from one that was plagued by backlogs into one that is fast, flexible, and responsive to the labour market. Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) announced today it will admit up to 55,300 persons in the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) category in 2013. Combined with previous actions taken to manage the backlog, this means by the end of 2013 we will be able to process new applications as they are received – a “just in time” system – and aim to process them in less than a year, instead of up to eight years under the old FSW program. In addition, CIC expects to clear the FSW applications received to date by the end of 2014, three years earlier than originally expected.  This will allow for the introduction of an Expression of Interest (EOI) system to be put in place for FSW and possibly other economic immigration streams.  CIC is moving to a just-in-time system that recruits people with the right skills to meet Canada’s labour market needs, fast tracks their applications, and gets them working in a period of months, instead of years.

வித்யா ராணி... 2009 மே வரை தமிழ் ஈழம் போற்றிய ஒரு பெண் போராளி. ஆனையிறவு முகாம் மீதான தாக்குதல் தொடங்கி 'ஜெயசிக்குறு எதிர் சமர்’ என ஈழத்தின் பெரும் சமர்களிலும் பங்கெடுத்தவர். ஈழத்தின் இறுதி யுத்தம் முள்ளிவாய்க்கால் வரை களமாடிய போராளி. ஈழத்துப் பெண் புலிகளின் வீரத்தை உலகுக்குச் சொன்ன 'சோதியா படையணி’யின் முன்னணித் தளபதிகளில் ஒருவர். ஜான்சி ராணி, வேலு நாச்சியார் போன்ற...வீராங்கனைகளுக்கு இணையாகத் தமிழ் ஈழத்தில் ஒரு காலம் புகழப்பட்ட வித்யா ராணி... கால வெள்ளச் சுழலில் இன்று ஒரு பாலியல் தொழிலாளி.

மனிதகுல வரலாற்றை வரலாற்று பொருள்முதல்வாதக் கண்கொண்டு பார்த்தால், சுயநிர்ணய உரிமைக் கோட்பாட்டின் "கோட்பாட்டு உருவாக்கம்" முதலாளித்துவத்தின் பிறப்பிடத்திற்கு ஊடாகவே கரு உருவாக்கம் பெறுகின்றது. நிலமானிய சமூகத்திற்குள் நிலத்தோடு பிணைக்கப்பட்டவர்களின் வர்க்கப்போராட்டம் முதலாளித்துவ சமுதாயத்தில் பிரசவிக்கின்றது. இச்சமுதாயம் பிரசவிப்பதற்கு முன்பாக உலகில் நிலையான தேசம் என்பது எதுவுமே இருக்கவில்லை.  இதற்கு முன்பான இச்சமூகப் புவியியல் நிலை பற்பல பேரரசுகளையும் - சிற்றரசுகளையும் கொண்ட முடியாட்சிகளைத்தான் தன்னகத்தே கொண்டிருந்தது. தேசங்களின் ஆரம்ப உருவாக்கம் ஐரோப்பாவை மையப்படுத்தியே உருவாகின்றது. 17-ம் நூற்றாண்டின் முற்பகுதியில் உலகில் கிட்டத்தட்ட நூற்றுக்கு குறைவான தேசங்களே உருவாக்கம் பெற்றன.

The Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, leads Ontarians in mourning the death of Ontario’s 24th Lieutenant Governor (1985–1991), the Honourable Lincoln Alexander. He is survived by his son, Keith, and second wife, Mrs. Marni Alexander. When Lincoln Alexander entered the Lieutenant Governor’s Suite for the first time in 1985, he might have paused for just a moment. He was, after all, about to enter not just a new and imposing office, but also an important phase of his own life—and in Ontario’s history. He was a man accustomed to breaking new ground: he became the first black person installed as the Queen’s representative in Ontario. Born in 1922 in Toronto, he was the son of West Indian immigrants—his father a railway porter and his mother a maid. Alexander served with the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. In 1948 he married Yvonne Harrison, who remained a pillar of strength for her extraordinary husband until her death in 1999. Alexander was educated at McMaster University, and later went on to study law at Osgoode Hall. Elected as an MP for Hamilton West in 1968, he was Canada’s first black person elected to the House of Commons. He remained there for 12 years. He made history again in his final year in Parliament, when he became Canada’s first black cabinet minister, having been appointed Minister of Labour.

செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை, 16 ஒக்ரோபர் 2012 - மனித உரிமை மீறல் மற்றும் யுத்த மீறல் விவகாரத்தில் சிறிலங்கா அரசாங்கம் மீது பல்வேறு முனைகளில் அழுத்தத்தைக் கொடுக்கும் நடவடிக்கையில் தாம் தொடர்ந்தும் ஈடுபடுவோம் என உலகத் தமிழர் பேரவை தெரிவித்துள்ளது.  சிறிலங்கா மீதான பூகோள கால மீளாய்வுக் கூட்டம் இரண்டாவது முறையாக நவம்பர் 01ல் ஐ.நா மனித உரிமைகள் பேரவையில் இடம்பெறவுள்ள நிலையில், சிறிலங்கா அரசாங்கத்தை வலுவாக எதிர்ப்பதற்கான சந்தர்ப்பத்தை இது வழங்கியுள்ளதாக பிரித்தானியாவைத் தளமாகக் கொண்டியங்கும் உலகத் தமிழர் பேரவையின் பேச்சாளர் சுரேன் சுரேந்திரன் தெரிவித்துள்ளார். உலகத் தமிழர் பேரவையானது பூகோள கால மீளாய்வுக் கூட்டத்தில் சமர்ப்பிப்பதற்கான தனது சொந்த அறிக்கையை அண்மையில் சமர்ப்பித்திருந்தது. "நாங்கள் பூகோள கால மீளாய்வில் பங்குபற்றியுள்ளோம். எமது தலைவரான எஸ்.ஜே.இமானுவேல் அடிகளார் வேறு சிலருடன் ஜெனீவா செல்லவுள்ளார். நானும் ஜெனீவா செல்லவுள்ளேன்" என சுரேன் சுரேந்திரன் மேலும் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
